Domestic violence songs

One of our most popular articles has been domestic violence country music songs. This was originally done because of #musicmonday on Twitter. Blog and website visitors have asked for more songs with domestic violence themes. We're glad to comply.

Several of  you have mentioned wanting this information for papers at school.  In today's society it's possible to be surrounded by music with this theme without even realize it. We applaud your efforts to raise awareness by looking at mainstream music.

So, here we go with our second list. It's a start but it won't capture everything. Be sure to add your suggestions in the comment field below. We've also made it easy for you to share this post with others and to "like" it. Feel free to use the new features.

Country Songs and Domestic Violence

This list started out after a friend and I had a conversation about #musicmonday on Twitter. We were talking about domestic violence. At about the same moment we had an idea to create a list of country songs that relate to domestic violence and to post it to Twitter as an awareness raiser.

There are a lot of country songs about domestic violence. This list will be added to in the future. We may also expand to other genres. Since our office is in the Southern US where country music reigns supreme we wanted to start here.

This list was created in support of the many victims of domestic violence worldwide. Domestic violence is so prevalent that some people listen to these songs daily but never realize they are listening to songs about abuse.
