Sexual Assault Hotline offers help 24/7

The National Sexual Assault Hotline is sponsored by the Rape Abuse Incest National Network. It provides crisis help and information 24 hours a day 7 days a week. There is no cost to call the hotline. All calls are free and confidential.

The problem is that not everyone knows about it. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. We're doing our part to support victims of sexual violence by telling everyone that we know about the hotline. You can help us by sending the status update below to your friends.

Here's the status update to tell your friend that help is as close as the phone.

Every 2 minutes someone is sexually assaulted

This is one of the ugliest statistics yet. According to the Rape Abuse Incest National Network someone in the United States is sexually assaulted every 2 minutes. Think about it. Do the math. There are 60 minutes in an hour, 1440 in 24 hours.

Why do we have such a high number for something so preventable? No + no = no. It's a simple equation.

You can make a difference by spreading the word. Send the message that sexual assault it not ok. The social media status update for today is listed below. Copy and paste it to your Facebook page or social media site. Send it out on Twitter. Post it to Digg, StumbleUpon or Yahoo Buzz.

Do it all, because by the time you finish reading blog article another 2 minutes may be up.
