With our closure, we no longer have need of sponsorship links nor are we accepting requests. All fulfillments have been honored. Being here with everyone has been a humbling unmatched experience. Given Gayle's health issues (our director) and funding situations, it is necessary that we sadly close our internet presence - the first and last doors of our journey. Our thrift shop and offline presence ceased a few years ago. Dissolution wasn't anyone's first choice although it is necessary.
The internet is constantly changing and evolving. It is a very different place now than it was just a few years ago. Recent changes across the internet may now be penalizing some sites that purchased or sold advertising links or online sponsorships.
Links were a widely accepted practice a few years ago. Now it's a big no-no to some search engines. The search engines aren't trying to knock nonprofit organizations out of funding or hurt agencies that serve victims of domestic violence. They're just trying to do business like we were. Their changes probably didn't help us much either.
What they are trying to do is make the internet a more user-friendly place by burying crappy sites at the bottom of the pile. Any action has unintended consequences. Some (not all) nonprofit blogs have gotten caught in the mix.
Thanks for your helping us help survivors of sexual and domestic violence and their friends and family. Your support was vital.
If you've sponsored us online and want the link removed, just let us know. If you want the link to remain, then there is nothing that you need to do. Please comment on this post if you wish your link to be removed. Our volunteer will be checking as she is able.
