Regarding Mother's Day

Mother's  Day is celebrated by many people in the U.S. There are family get-togethers, potluck meals, dinners out for a lot of people. Some restaurants are even giving extra perks to moms. Everywhere you look there are signs and special promotions for moms. This is great! A lot of mothers deserve this attention and more.

But, for those of us who have questionable moms it's a tough day. It can also be a bad day for those of us who want to be moms or who question our own parenting skills. This post is dedicated to those moms who feel inadequate, who have empty arms or who (like me) have had a mom who did her best on the days that she could.

I just wanted to reach through the screen to wish you a happy, healthy mothers' day.  I believe that each day truly is a new start and a new beginning. You have the right to love, to be loved and to be cared about. You deserve to have a beautiful day! Be kind to yourself and go gently about the day. Most of all, find something - even a small thing - to lift your heart. This is your day. I hope that you can celebrate.

In hope,

Gayle Crabtree
