How Domestic Violence Awareness Month began

The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence held a 'Day of Unity' in 1981. Domestic Violence Awareness Month is the movement that came out of that event. Now held annually in October, the designation gives agencies and individuals an opportunity to come together to raise awareness. Can you help us by sending out the following social media update?
