Hope for Healing.Org Blogathon 2010 - announces total

Hope for Healing.Org Blogathon 2010 was a success. We are very proud of the bloggers who worked so hard to raise funds and awareness. The totals exceeded our expectations. We don’t have to remind everyone that our country is recovering from a recession.

At our organization we think that the economy is improving. Why? Because the number of people who ask us for free food or free school supplies has dropped substantially since last year. There are fewer phone and online requests. To us, this is a good sign.

We also feel that the improvement in the economy is reflected in the Hope for Healing.Org Blogathon 2010 totals. In 2009, our blogathon total was $400. We were very happy with that. This year is even better.

The funds generated go toward our general operating expenses. Things like phone, internet access and webhosting aren’t covered by grants (not that we’ve found anyway). Yet without them we couldn’t operate. After all, we are a .org! J

Going into the Hope for Healing.Org Blogathon we weren’t sure what to expect. Our team brought it home for us. The total raised this year (including pledges) is $850! This more than doubles what our volunteers helped us raise last year! Who wouldn’t like to see that happen with their mutual fund?

There is no way that we can thank our volunteers and sponsors enough for your hard work. I’m going to let our clients do that. The two lines below say it better than I ever could.

  • “My family threw me under the bus. They can’t deal with my problems. You said it had more to do with them than me. I believe that now.”
  • “You are there when my friends aren’t.”
Fundraising is important but that’s only part of the total support that keeps us online. (Page 2…)
