Domestic Violence Info Packs Given Out at Annual Conference

Another great year! We gave out lots of information and talked with lots of people. If you signed up on our mailing list we'll be getting in touch with you. We especially look forward to talking with you if you requested information about getting a speaker for your group.

Back in the spring Asbury UMC in Greenville, TN hosted our Oasis Church training on domestic violence. To keep costs down for attendees, the church staff made many copies of the training packets. Extra copies not used were saved and taken to Annual Conference. I'm thrilled to be able to report that ALL packets were given out. Not one solitary packet remained to come back home! A few people heard about the packets and asked. (We'll get them to you!)

Folks, this is unprecedented.

I'm very happy that the pastors and laity of the Holston Conference are making learning about domestic violence a priority. The Wesley Institutes gave CEU credit for those who attended the workshop in the spring. Two other churches are now interested in holding the training.

On a further note:

All brochures on domestic violence are gone.
All business cards are gone.
Most of the stat cards were taken.
Most of the flyers about Hope for Healing.Org are gone.

This by far and away tops the information taken at previous Annual Conferences.

If you stopped by and we were out of something let us know. Brochures and information is available on our website. If you need a hard copy and cannot print there is more at the office. We'll be glad to help you get the information you need.

Thanks for a great annual conference. We look forward to seeing you next time!
