We're getting ready for the Strawberry Plains Spring Festival. The Strawberry Plains Community Alliance has been planning the event since last year's success. Some of you may remember that this is a resurrection of a previous event.

Such a smash hit demanded a repeat. There will be music on several stages, craft and food vendors, education and information booths - you name it! This end of Old Andrew Johnson Hwy will be blocked off. Festivities will start at the parking lots of the United Methodist and Presbyterian Churches at about 3173 W. Old Andrew Johnson Hwy. Booths and vendors will line the street and conclude at First Baptist Church at 3100 Old Andrew Johnson Hwy.

Our new office and thrift shop are located in about the middle of the event. Our outdoor cafe will be a good place to stop and rest. We'll have hot dogs and our typical sodas and snacks. Plus, there could be a surprise bag sale that will add to the fun.

Plenty of kid friendly activities are planned during this family event. Everyone loves a parade! There will also be face painting, games and inflatables. It's guaranteed fun for all ages!

So come see us! Bring your family, friends and plan to have a great time. The festival runs from 9:00 - 4:00, Saturday, May 10, 2008. Don't miss it!
