Our booth at the Holston Annual Conference in 2011

At Hope for Healing.Org we truly enjoy setting up a booth at the Holston Annual Conference. It is on the shoreline of Lake Junaluska in the western part of North Carolina.

About 2,000 people attend the conference. The event happens every June. It's a time to see friends and make connections. Most of all, having a booth here gives us the opportunity to tell others about what we do. This yea we are especially excited to be able to do just that.

We've made some big changes over the past few months. Our online teleclasses train clergy on how to respond to sexual and domestic violence victims that are already within their congregation. The classes fill a gap in the education of pastors. One of the best things about the classes is that pastors with the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church can receive CEU credit for attending.

There are some other things out there too. We have jewelry and a few notecards that kids and our volunteers have made.

If you are attending the conference do come by and see us. We're in the missions area. Hope for Healing.Org is pretty easy to find. Look for the black and white sign that asks "Is Your Church and Oasis"? It's on the third row. You can't miss it.
