Sexual Assault and reporting social media update

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. We are posting stats and facts to help raise awareness during our 2011 Sexual Assault Speakout. Why not join us? Helping is easy. Just use the update below as a status update on your favorite social media site.

Did you know that stats from the Rape Abuse Incest National Network says that someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted every 2 minutes? Society still has a lot of work to do to stop rape.

When it comes to reporting rape there is a lot of work to be done. More than 60% of all sexual assaults aren't reported. Shame and embarrassment are two major reasons. Fear also keeps survivors silent.

Our Executive Director will be using Twitter to spread the word. RTs are more than welcome. Can you help us by posting and RTing? Here's our account link.
