The fourth Saturday of the month is known around here as "Missions Day". This is the one day of the month when we need all the help we can get. Here's what's happening today.
2 Kids from Restorative Justice will be here.
The Clothing Closet will be open.
We're having our first Angel Food Distribution.
A volunteer needs to meet the truck to p/u the order.
We'll need to sort, stack and fold clothing closet donations and make the clothing ready for our clients.
Someone needs to fix lunch or set out snacks for the volunteers.
Volunteers will need to pair up with the Restorative Justice kids to be a positive influence. Our goal is to positively effect change in their lives - so far, it's working.
Then we have to clean up.
All in all, it'll be a great day! :-)

Since we've started having the clothing closet open on Thursdays its been busy. We had anticipated more traffic because of the start of a new school year and we weren't wrong. Today has been BUSY!

Angel Food
Hope for Healing.Org is now a participant in the Angel Food Ministries food distribution. Participants purchase food at a reasonable price to help stretch the food budget. Basic boxes begin at $25.00 each. The approximate value is $60.00 - $80.00. The boxes are for any income. Food stamps are accepted. They are designed to help feed a family of four for a week or a senior citizen for approximately a month.
Orders should be placed in our office by August 11. The pick up date and time is August 26, 2006 from 10:00am - 11:00am. Any food not picked up will be distributed to a non-profit donation or given to someone in need. Please bring a large box or laundry basket to pick up your food.
Volunteers are welcome! Perfect for groups or individuals. People are needed to greet, check-in, direct traffic and to carry food boxes for those who can't. Attend our training session on Thursday night from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. or call our office for more information.
Our free clothing closet will also be open during the Angel Food Distribution times.
