Many of you know we've been collecting supplies and funds to send to the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence. You may not realize that we've helped locally too.
Monday we had the priviledge of helping a neat couple. It's impossible to pack all you will ever need when you are pregnant, have a toddler and fleeing in advance of a storm. Through our clothing closet we've provided clothing and baby supplies. Food pantry items were given through a partnership with Strawberry Plains United Methodist Church.
Today we received great news. Mom and baby are doing fine after a quick, complication free, delivery. Dad is doing ok too. In fact, he has a new job and a new baby.
This family is ready and eager to rebuild thier lives after Katrina. I think they are off to a great start! :)
